COFFEE IS GOOD FOR YOU!
Everyone loves to wake up in the morning to a fresh cup of hot coffee!
Coffee has been appreciated for hundreds of years by various peoples all over the world, especially for its stimulating and energizing effects!
A good source of antioxidants and caffeine, black coffee in moderation has been suggested to have positive effects on the cardiovascular system as well, including reducing the risk of heart disease (American Heart Association, 2018).
The versatility of coffee is easily demonstrated by the large variety of roasts and flavor options.
COFFEE CAN BE COMPLIMENTED WITH HERBS!
In fact, it is very common to add additional ingredients to coffee to help improve the taste, aroma, and even enhance or synergize the effects of the coffee drink.
In the southern United States in places like Louisiana, it is common to add chicory root to enhance the taste and nutritional benefits of coffee.
Other common herbs added to coffee include:
Mullein and Mint (to help enhance respiration and breathing)
Chamomile (to provide a sweet taste and as an anxiolytic to help regulate strong doses of caffeine)
Cinnamon (to provide a distinct flavor and to enhance the stimulant effects of caffeine)
Cloves (same as cinnamon)
Cardamom and others!
COMBINING COFFEE WITH CBD!
Did you know you can add CBD to coffee?
In a rapidly growing trend, people are starting to infuse their breakfast beverages with CBD oil thanks to recent legislative changes in states across the country.
There are already several CBD-infused coffee products on the market.
In fact, famous country singer and star Willie Nelson even has recently released a brand of coffee products that are CBD infused called “Willie’s Remedy” that features 5mg of infused CBD per 8-ounce bag.
USING CBD IN COFFEE PRODUCTS!
You can easily make your own CBD-infused coffee at home using your favorite products!
Just add CBD-infused butter or coconut oil (or any similar CBD infused fat product) to your fresh cup of coffee! You have to use a fat-containing ingredient such as milk, olive oil, or butter as it allows for the CBD to be properly absorbed in the body.
It is best to start with one teaspoon and work your way up until you are familiar with a comfortable dosage.
Alternatively, you can use CBD oils or drops in fresh coffee, but you will have to adjust the dosage slightly to account for heat loss of available nutrients and cannabinoids.
There are several benefits to using CBD-infused coffee!
One of the most noticeable benefits is that people who use CBD products generally complain that CBD products tend to induce drowsiness and lethargy in many people.
By using CBD-infused coffee you can get all the medicinal benefits of the CBD, with the caffeine providing you energy and counter-acting the sleepy side effects.
In a reverse manner, the CBD helps modulate the stimulating effects of caffeine and provides a nice balance between the two. The combined medicinal effects of both herbal products will leave you feeling uplifted, focused, energized, and ready to tackle the day!
